How does it work
Understanding the PaNAP architecture

The PaNAP fabric is composed of top carrier-class Cisco Systems switch/routers.
Each gear includes redundant power-supplies, redudant CPUs and redundant switching fabrics of 720Gbps capacity each.
The member-connecting linecards are enabled with distributed Layer 2 and Layer 3 upgrades to ensure the best performances on every members ports even with the highest mixed traffic scenario.
Every switch is connected to each other using multiple Ten Gigabit Ethernet links carried between the different sites by Bouygues Telecom own 10Gbps DWDM network.
The DWDM core itself relies on metro dark fiber spans owned by Bouygues Telecom, based on differentiated paths to avoid site isolation in case of fiber cuts.
